"What is Hakuba EarthLove Society?"

Established in 2024, the Hakuba Earth Love Society is based in Hakuba Village and aims to preserve traditional culture and protect the natural environment. As a gathering of like-minded individuals and companions who share a bright future, we will explore and propose an environmentally friendly and sustainable lifestyle. With our ever-growing number of like-minded individuals and companions, we will spread a new way of life (necessary for society and the environment now and in the future) from Hakuba Village to both domestic and international audiences.

Hakuba Village captivates people with its magnificent nature throughout the four seasons, where diverse communities harmonize, and where a sustainable lifestyle and vision are shared by the local government and its people.

My roots lie in the Himalayas, where, since ancient times, gods have believed to reside in the high, snow-capped mountains, and even today, people can be seen offering prayers there every day. This mountain worship, which involves living modestly in harmony with nature and preserving ancient culture without letting it die out, is also alive and well in Hakuba Village, and is something we can be proud of worldwide. I will continue to spread my activities and aspirations to build a bridge between the Himalayas and Hakuba Village, and to cooperate with as many people as possible to create a future filled with more hope for everyone.

As part of our initiative, we are planning to upcycle the former ski resort site in Hakuba Village into a sustainable public space. We will utilize the former slopes and grounds to operate events and activities that bring people together throughout the seasons, fostering a sense of appreciation for nature and culture, and promoting conservation. We understand that the public space needs events and activities that will attract people. Examples currently under consideration include operating an organic garden, planning well-being and retreat programs (such as travel and corporate training), planning and holding yoga sessions and outdoor events, creating a community center-like facility to provide meals to people both within and outside the region, and hosting environmental education programs and international programs. Our goal is to promote a new, more harmonious lifestyle for all people. Our aim is to spread a system from Hakuba to the world that contributes to the environment, society, and economy while cherishing modern culture and the teachings of bygone eras.

We believe that Hakuba Village becoming a leader in this paradigm shift and paving the way for a sustainable future will also lead to the prosperity of Hakuba Village.

To that end, we hope to gather as many supporters and collaborators as possible and move forward with our activities together with you.

We sincerely look forward to your support and endorsement.

P.S.: EarthLove Station will open next to JR Hakuba Station in the fall of 2024!

Earth Love Station will feature a dining zone where you can enjoy Earth Love curry and Himalayan hot pot that resonate with mind, body, and society; a cafe and bar zone that will serve as a place for interaction between people from within and outside the region; and a podcast station (open recording studio) where high-minded people visiting Hakuba will explore the Earth, nature, and a brighter future!

We look forward to your visit and the interest you will show.

Let's make effective use of the old ski resort slopes for a brighter future!

In Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture, on a hill overlooking the Hida Mountains, there is a now-unused ski resort slope.

We, Japan Himalaya Mandir Hakuba, will utilize this former ski slope and the surrounding space to preserve traditional culture, protect the natural environment, and explore and propose an environmentally friendly and sustainable lifestyle together with as many people as possible.

A once-in-a-lifetime food truck is now in operation.

Based primarily in Hakuba Village, we offer curry and hot sandwiches made with Himalayan spices and local ingredients, free from chemical seasonings and preservatives, to as many people as possible. We share our goals and dreams with our customers while discussing the importance of preserving nature and culture. A portion of our profits will be donated to Earth Love Society to support its activities and contribute to the prosperity of society and the environment.
(You can check our latest activities on social media, etc.)
If you see me, please feel free to say "Namaste"!

Former Hakuba Highland ski slope

This land has long been owned by the people of the Warabidaira area in Hokujo, Hakuba Village. Since the ski resort closed in 2005, it has become a conspicuous, undeveloped plot of land, which is a real shame. I sincerely hope that as many people as possible will see this scenery and become fully aware of the importance of earth consciousness.
