In early spring, as the goats naturally shed their winter coats, the finest and softest down is carefully collected by hand.
Only the most delicate fibers growing beneath the chin and across the chest are selected. Coarser hair from the back and legs is never used.
Just approximately 25 grams of precious down can be collected from a single Chyangra goat.
